Wildwood - Historic 6 Bedroom - Rustic Elegance
Built in 1904, this enchanting home has served as a family retreat for generations, and was featured in Cheaper by the Dozen. Constructed entirely of wood from floors to ceilings, this two story home has six bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room (seats 8) and large living room, with a walk-around deck perched on the hillside looking through old-growth Redwoods with a peek of the waters of Tomales Bay and the hills beyond.
Wildwood sleeps up to 11 persons, with parking for 3 cars, and is located up a gentle road within easy walking distance of the town of Inverness. Hiking and biking trails start just 100 yards up the road, and beach and boat access are less than a mile away. It is an ideal home for gatherings, but please keep in mind that we're in a quiet residential neighborhood, so this is not the place for late/loud parties.
We just finished substantial remodeling, including a complete remodel of all the bathrooms. We refinished all the floors upstairs and down. You'll enjoy the deluxe amenities such as Coyuchi orgnaic cotton hand towels, EO soaps, new flatscreen TV, high speed internet/wifi throughout, new gas grill & outdoor furniture, and so many more little touches. The fireplace was just completely refurbished and works great, and we provide fire-logs for your convenience.
The kitchen is fully stocked with most everything you'll need, including oils, spices, condiments, coffee/sugar/honey. (no espresso machine, and you're on your own for cream.)
Downstairs there are two bedrooms (Queen, 2 twins)
Upstairs there are four bedrooms (Cal King, Queen, Queen, Double)
All of the bedrooms have views of the hillside and trees.
Please note that the piano unfortunately is out of commission.
We do have a large flatscreen with basic cable, a dvd player, excellent Wifi, a closet full of games and toys, and a trail that leads down to the creek.

Hiking & Biking trails right from your door. Beach & Marina & Restaurants within walking distance. Shell Beach, Chicken Ranch, and Heart's Desire are just a few minutes' drive away. There's a kayak rental place less than 1/2 mile away. We're on the way to the Lighthouse in the Point Reyes National Seashore. Saltwater Restaurant is a pleasant 5 minute walk through our quiet neighborhood.Our road ends 100 yards past Wildwood, and from there it becomes a fire-road, perfect for hiking, biking, strolling, with many single-track trails branching off. Get into nature without touching your car! Walk out from your door. Great for strollers, toddlers, lazy people, as well as those who want to explore further afield.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, so we ask that our guests respect that and keep the outside noise down after dark, as sounds really echo in our valley.
